Greetings from the Unit President,


To All Auxiliary Members,

August 1, 2011 through July 31, 2012 is the calendar year for the Auxiliary. So… let me be the first to say Happy New Year to each and every Unit 1 Auxiliary Member.

With the New Year, brings a new slate of officers. Every officer that was appointed by our Unit members is excited to fill the responsibilities that come with the position. We believe that it is an honor to be chosen as the elected officer and will do everything possible to carry out the duties as determined by the constitution and request of the members.

There are many programs and committees that the Auxiliary sponsors and participates in. It is how we contribute, fill a need and address the many social concerns of the community. Many members have chosen to lead the committees, work the program and involve everyone.

Much is planned for this upcoming year. Dinners, Poppy Drives, working with the Juniors, Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, Girls State, Family Support, Children and Youth, Americanism, Flag Etiquette, Leadership training, Community Service (giving back) and much more.

I am often asked "what does the Auxiliary do". I will say that as an individual ,I do much but as a Unit, I do more. The members of Unit 1 have a drive to help Veterans and their families. It is truly a love and passion in our hearts to help and give back. We are grateful for the sacrifices and endurance that each Veteran takes on and realize that their families take on the same.

We look forward to a new year with new possibilities. We meet every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:00 P.M. with a pot luck dinner starting at 6:00 P.M. I invite each of you to join in the Auxiliary's exciting year filled with fun activities and join our strong and supporting membership.
