Commander's Column - Post 1 - Tulsa, OK
To the Legion Family:
My first month in office has been exciting to say the least. Trying to get accustomed to all the things that go on day to day at the Post has been quite exciting to say the least. The rest of the coming year should be just as exciting for us all. While no one really likes change, sometimes change is just what is needed to move the Post forward to better things. I do have some ideas that I will be presenting to the E-Board and the Membership in the coming meeting. Again, please attend so you will be able to hear first hand what these ideas are.
On Oct 2, we will be having a Post Clean-up day after the SAL Breakfast. There are some things around the Post that needs some TLC and this will be the time to take care of those things. We will be picking a few things off a list and trying to get them accomplished before time for the Saturday Dance Crew to come in. I expect that we will have another Clean up day in the future besides this one.
A few things that are upcoming at the Post are the Trunk or Trick in Oct, The Veterans Day Lunch is coming up on November 11th. and the Post Christmas Party for the Kids. Not to be forgotten is the Steak Night the first Friday of every month and the five dollar Breakfast on the first Saturday of every month. Please remember that every Friday evening is the Friday meal that some group from the Post is in charge of fixing.
I have been Happy to an extent with the members attending the Legion Meetings but I would really like to see more Legionnaires out. If you can, please attend the meetings on the First and Third Tuesdays of the month. If every one would just call one member that they know and remind them, I'm sure the Hall would be packed. Please check out the Calendar that is posted on this site for the full months activities at the Post.
Let us remember those that have Served our Country and those that are Serving our Country. And that Serving the Veterans are our utmost priority.
